Are you having trouble finding Harissa paste?
There are many varieties with varying flavors and spiciness Please try the Harissa paste before mixing it with the other ingredients (during the class together with us) and if it's too spicy, use 1-2 Tablespoons less than the recipe calls for.
These are the brands we have tried.
Chef Eva’s Favorite:
It is available at Whole Food, Amazon and Instacart. It is described as fragrant and mildly spicy.
Chef Eva’s 2nd choice
Hotter, you may want to cut back on the quantity in the recipe. It is also available at Whole foods
Another one tested was:
Quite hot and less complex flavor- definitely cut back by >2 Tbs
If you can't find the Harissa paste: look for Harissa powder.
Use 4 Tablespoons, with 1 tablespoon of tomato paste and 1 extra tablespoon olive oil. (2 total) We will do this together in class but have it ready.
